AIR UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION MISSION
The Air University Foundation, Inc., (AUF) is a 501 (C)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit educational foundation that provides resources and support to Air University in the development of tomorrow’s military leaders.
The Air University Foundation exists to promote, enhance, and expand the intellectual experience of all class members and faculty within the Air University. The Foundation complements Air University programs and initiatives by providing financial resources when, for policy or budgetary reasons, government funding is not available. The Foundation’s support for Air University, the seat of Air Force professional education, gives particular emphasis to research; conferences and symposia; awards for superior performance and academic achievement; the National Security Forum, a Secretary of the Air Force program of lectures and seminars for prominent civic leaders from throughout the United States; and the Enlisted Heritage Hall, which supports enlisted professional education and chronicles the contributions of the enlisted force throughout the history of air and space power.
As the financial resources provided through formal government channels continue to shrink, the support provided from the Foundation will become increasingly important.
OUR VISION
The AUF Foundation’s vision is to become a supporting organization that is widely recognized as the national leader in programs, innovation, and support to Air University to advance its core mission of educating leaders for the challenges of the 21st century.
OUR GOALS
The goals of the AU Foundation are to:
• Enrich the College’s academic environment
• Foster a strong relationship between the military and the private sector
• Enhance the institution’s research activities
• Promote leader development
• Encourage excellence in the faculty and student body
• Maintain contact with alumni
The AU Foundation is funded through private donations and its board of trustees is staffed with distinguished retired military leaders, business executives, community leaders and others who are focused on providing the margin of excellence to the educational programs of the Air University.
